Established in 2019 before taking a break between 2020 – 2022 because of you-know-what, we’re back in 2023.

Baan Phuen Hostel is a friendly place to be at. “Baan Phuen” in Thai means “Friend’s House” and we hope to convey that same sense of being to everyone who pops into our establishment. We’re a modestly appointed hostel, so you’re not going to be fussing about with room service, swimming pools and all that sort! However, you’re a person looking for a safe and convenient place to stay with the opportunity to meet and network with fellow travellers of the same mind in a shared space.

Strategically located just past the northern end of Chiang Mai International Airport, we are right in the centre of one of the liveliest districts in town called “Suan Dok” or Flower Garden, with the hip Nimmanheinman Road to the north, the lively Chiang Mai University “south” gate to the West and the heart and soul of the Chiang Mai city centre to the East. All easily within walking distance!

We would describe ourselves as being strategically appointed in a not too near, not too far location. Convenience is all around with lots of shops for knick-knacks and the odd pharmacy should you require some medication for your trip.

The foodie in all of us will appreciate being surrounded by all variety of food options, with the hundreds of the ubiquitous Thai “street food” stalls from morning to night, restaurants of various variety and nationality. Come night time, the streets turn quiet as night time activities take place not too near and not too far.
